About

Theresa is not your “as seen on TV” housewife.  Married to the same guy for 18 years and counting, she is a Navy wife, a full-time mother to 2 teenagers (SuzyQ and Junior–not their real names!), a faithful Catholic, and a homeschooling mom.  She’s a stickler for manners, correct grammar, and courtesy.  You will almost always find her carrying a book to read and trailed by her entourage of pets: a black and white cat and a red brindle greyhound.

Here you will find random thoughts on her efforts to maintain a counter-cultural family. She’ll explain why her standard response to her kids’ arguments is, “But we’re not like everyone else.”

  1. So glad you found my page today! Great to hear from a kindred spirit. I wanted to tell you a little about my page because I see that you are a fellow Catholic and are trying to raise up little saints too!
Most of my posts are peppered with humor and sarcasm and the theme is usually something mommies struggle with or have to deal with. I’ve found that if you try and evangelize people directly, sometimes they get turned off. So I try and bring up things that would normally get people worked up (like dealing with Walmart!) and I make fun of them and treat them with humor in a way to evangelize joy to them, without them knowing it, sort of. I often fail! I try and end each post on a positive note. I wanted to tell you because in doing so I get edgy sometimes, but I keep everything at least PG-13, if not nicer. Mainly, I like to make people laugh! Today’s post was not a typical post, much more serious. If you want to get a flavor, go to the tag at the top of my page called “Favorite Posts”. If not, thanks for stopping by my little place. I love finding new blogs through readers. It inspires me and reminds me that we’re all in this together!
    Peace,
    Mamajulep
